It Begins!

And so it begins! My first of many entries.

Yesterday, I was dropped off at the Baltimore airport early enough to get through traffic and security. I suppose Halloween just wasn't a big day to travel. My plane was half full and so I didn't have someone encroaching on my space. But that's not what I wanted to talk about.

Right after you get through security (which only took about 10 minutes and five of those was from me getting all the stuff out and taking off my shoes than anything). So right after the security gates, there was a Borders inside. I noticed right away that there was an author signing. A few people were milling about and the author was very very prominently stationed at the front of the store.

I thought to myself that I should ask him how the author signing was going in the airport. I mean, he was inside the security gates, so how could people really come to see him if they wanted to? It would be too expensive to buy a plane ticket just to get through the gates. I didn't think that it would be a successful enough venture to do it that way.

Then as I got close, I saw that the sign said he was Ralph Nader. No shit. Ralph Nader! So I was like, no way, he must be like a biographer. But as I got closer, I realized that the old guy was really Ralph Nader. He must have been waiting for his plane or had some extra long layover or something. Otherwise it just wouldn't be worth it. And I suspect that only a few people could get away with having a signing inside the airport security gates and he's probably one of them.

I didn't stop to talk to him, however. We had planned enough time to get through traffic and security. And since neither of which took very long, I was there in time for an earlier flight. I zoomed over to the gate, paid $20 and got the flight an hour earlier. Which meant that I got home an hour earlier. Yaay for me!

The only downside to that airplane flight was that it got really rocky towards the end. There were heavy winds in Orlando, so the plane just kept rocking and rocking. And I can usually deal with turbulence if it's the up and down shaky kind. But when it's the rolling to side to side kind, I get very nauseaus. Luckily, I managed to keep it all in, but I wasn't very hungry after that. I forced myself to eat a little bit though because I had skipped dinner getting onto the earlier flight. And I made the mistake of drinking Pepsi so that it would settle my stomach. Boy, did I have a hard time falling asleep last night! But luckily, I am ok today.

And if you're lucky, I will tell you about the Great Pumpkin tomorrow! Talk to ya'll soon!
