Kermit, They Are Not
Dec. 3rd, 2006 10:02 amWhen I first moved to Florida, K.Z. Perry asked me if I was used to things skittering around at the periphery of my vision. You see, Florida has these little brown lizards the length of my middle finger. They lay out in the sun during the dry, warm days. If you walk by or get close, they skitter quite quickly into the bushes. Most times I don't even see them skitter through, I just hear bushes rustling.
In Davis, California, they've managed to get their crickets to be about the length of my pinky finger. They were black to boot, and no, they weren't cockroaches. Cockroaches are flat and red.
