Rain on my Enchilada

It rained a whole bunch today. So much so that our little divit in the common backyard has flooded to the point where two ducks have decided to take temporary residence there. But at least the rain is washing off the millions of dead lovebugs on the front of our car. Even though it's raining so much, sometimes it doesn't help with the drought situation here. When the rain comes down too much, too quickly, it doesn't give the earth enough time to drink it in. The water just disappears back into the ocean instead of seeping down into the aquafers.
